Unfortunately, WCGN’s efforts to challenge Mosaic’s plans for development at the train station (6134R-46 Wayne Avenue) did not succeed. Using funds donated very generously by members of the community, WCGN hired an attorney as well as a city planning expert to pursue a couple of promising-looking paths to achieving a compromise on the scale of the planned complex.
Despite their excellent work thoroughly exploring every option, the ZBA decided in favor of Mosaic, and – contrary to what we had initially hoped – it has turned out that appealing that decision would be extremely costly and does not now seem to have much chance of succeeding. The ZBA ruling does include a proviso concerning attention to safety on Station Drive.
