GHS/Fulton Development

As reported by Jill Saull on 10/6/19 (sorry this post is late)
The GHS/Fulton Campus Development is still in the planning stages. The Coalition is actively working on a CBA (Community Benefits Agreement). The proposal is for it to be a mixed-use project with about 240 apts, co-working/incubator space, 15 live/work studio space for artists, carpenter, etc.

Jack Azran is the owner. There are many unanswered questions about financing, management, low income, affordable and market rate numbers and what type of businesses will be encouraged to open. They are proposing to restore the old gym and have that accessible to the community.

The coalition has engaged a lawyer to help craft the CBA in the appropriate language. Things of concern in the CBA range from the management of the project as it is in progress, trash/debris control and removal, traffic, noise; to security of the project ongoing and, once it is completed, management of the property, trash removal; to making sure that the low income units are interspersed throughout and will remain low income in perpetuity.

The great lawn on the Germantown Ave side is to remain a green space and will be available for the community to use.
