Fruit at the Station Garden

Heading into the second half of the growing season, the garden has just had a tidying-up session. We had skipped two weeks of weeding (one of them because it was just too hot) and suddenly the weeds were taking over, especially in the lower milkweed/blueberry patch. Luckily Saturday the 3rd was relatively cool and overcast, and with four of us weeding, the monarchs can see the milkweed again.

Following the delicious plums, now black raspberries are ripe (they’re up the hill) and the peaches are getting close. Please help yourselves, remembering that others will want to do the same.

WCGN’s perennial bed in full glory!

The bed of perennials is so full of flowers there is barely any room for weeds! Good thing we have that fence to hold them up!
