Joanna Vaughan, daughter of Deborah Vaughan, recently wrote to the Board informing us of
the death of her mother, a long-time neighbor. Joanna writes:
…Deborah Vaughan passed away at dawn on Labor Day. My sister and I were with her as she
went peacefully at the age of 103 years and 7 months.
She loved the West Central neighborhood for the 42 years she lived on Walnut Lane.
Debbie was a dedicated volunteer on the WCGN Board for many years. Old-timers will
remember that starting in the 60’s or 70’s, she graciously hosted an annual holiday potluck for
the entire neighborhood, year after year.
