On Monday November 28th our Councilwoman, Cindy Bass, hosted a 7PM Community Meeting
to introduce Anthony Fullard of West Powelton Development so that he could explain his
development plans for Town Hall at 5928 Germantown Avenue.*
The announcement for this meeting was sent via Twitter and then posted on the Council
Person’s Facebook Page around 5 PM the same day. When WCGN heard the news, we
immediately notified those near neighbors on the unit & 100 Blocks of W. Haines, Harvey, and
W. Rittenhouse, as well as the 5900 block of McCallum.
With 30 minutes’ notice, approximately 20 neighbors were able to log on to participate.
Ms. Bass opened the meeting and introduced Mr. Fullard, who began by introducing his staff
and associates. As he began his presentation, however, he was interrupted several times by
Zoom-bombing.
Once the lengthy intrusion was finally quieted, Mr. Fullard attempted to salvage his
presentation, which came across as disjointed and vague. His architect tried to display tentative
drawings for the apartment building planned for the space behind Town Hall, but was
prevented by yet another Zoom-bombing intrusion.
The remainder of the meeting was taken up with questions and comments.
The meeting ended with a promise from Ms. Bass to plan several more community meetings
with at least 2 weeks’ notice.
You can see Cindy Bass’s post-meeting statement on her Facebook Page.
*Please note that on October 11, WCGN emailed Mr. Fullard at West Powelton Development.
We asked if he would share his plans and we offered to facilitate a community meeting. We
received no response.
